Originally designed to be a wood structure, we worked with the Owner to give them more bang for their buck in the form of a steel building.  The structure was built as a “shell”.  After construction, the school moved forward with the build-out of the structure to fit their programs.  Cost effective, flexible and without the constraints of a wood structure.

VPGC Live Haul Cooling Shed

Specialized pre-engineered building constructed on an existing asphalt pad.  The asphalt was selectively removed, specialized curbs and guide rails were fabricated and installed, as well as a series of fans and sunscreen to keep the poultry cool during the warmer days of the year.  The structure is all galvanized.

Stoney Run Farm

Stoney Run Farm is an example of hybrid construction where we combined a galvanized pre-engineered metal building roof structure and supported in part by tilt-up concrete walls.  The open holding barn (attached to the rotary parlor) was 100% Nucor pre-engineered steel.

Stone Hill provided the foundations, as well as the specialized concrete for the rotary and subway servicing the interior of the rotary.  Tongue and groove PVC panels were installed on the parlor ceiling, making the structure, bright and white!  The rotary parlor design allows the Smith’s to milk 72 cows simultaneously.  After stepping onto the rotary carousel milking is complete with one trip around the parlor.  This facility has the capacity to milk up to 3000 cows 3 times a day!
